Art Classes for kids 1-5 years
Use the drop-down menu in the scheduler below to find the right one for you. Sign up for a whole semester or drop in here and there. Preregistration isn’t required, but is highly recommended.
CLASS & PLAYGROUP SCHEDULE:
We offer structured classes (45-90 minutes long) led by a Private Picassos’ Art Teacher and unstructured Art Playgroups (45-120 minutes long) which are self-led.
All have a max of 10-20 kids per class (depending on the program) and classes for kids under the age of 5 require adult participation.
Winter Semester - 1/6-4/3; 12 weeks * no classes the week of 2/16
Spring Semester - 4/14-6/20; 10 weeks * no classes 6/4, 6/5 and 6/19
COMMUNITY DANCE, MUSIC & PUPPET CLASSES
HOSTED AT OUR STUDIO
Puppetsburg rocks interactive, contemporary puppet shows for 0-5 yrs that will make you laugh, too. Our professional performers are the best around, imbuing each show with magic and surprise. Join our fiery protagonist Clementine for a different story each week, featuring dancing, music, bubbles, handmade puppets, educational elements, and dress-up costumes that relate to the show theme and are fresh every time. Join us on an unforgettable journey.
Sign up directly with Puppetsburg. Drop-ins are welcome, but full series sign ups are encouraged :)

Spring Semester:
Led by local musician and dad Greg Stare, Rocking Chair Sing & Drum-Along is a hands-on music class for babies and toddlers that celebrates rhythm, song, and improvisation. Weaving together original and familiar tunes — including songs from Greg’s 2024 children’s album — kids explore a curious mix of shakers, a tongue drum that sings, and big things that go BOOM!

Toddler Dance Class (2-3 yrs)
Join us for a weekly dance class, designed for toddlers to move, stretch and play. Taught by Ava Golner, who brings over 10 years of experience working with students of all ages but with a special focus on young dancers.
This class will take place in the back room of our Clinton Hill Art Studio. Grown-ups are asked to remain on site, but can relax in the front of our Studio during class.

Music Together Tam Tam @ Private Picassos!
Tam Tam is dedicated to building a community that inspires and connects families through live, participatory music-making. Our award-winning family classes offer a stimulating, creative and developmentally-appropriate musical environment for children and their families in Brooklyn's neighborhoods of Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford-Stuyvesant.
