We believe that everyone benefits from creative time - especially us adults getting away from our phones!  With that in mind, we've partnered with local bars, cafes and businesses to offer a series of Art Workshops, designed for beginners to get back into using their hands and making art.  Check our schedule below for a class near you!

  • 11/30 ~ DIY Printmaking ~ Students will explore traditional and non-traditional printmaking techniques that can easily be done at home.  We’ll use recycled cardboard to create traditional collagraph prints, as well as styrofoam sheets to replicate linoleum carving.  We’ll print with water-based printing ink and also permanent ink pads.  Wine corks, bottle caps and bubble wrap will also be explored to showcase how household items can also be used to create gorgeous prints!
  • 12/7 ~ Intro to Watercolor ~ Students will learn basic watercolor techniques and then complete a series of watercolor paintings!  Techniques such a dry brush and wet into wet will be demonstrated by our teacher, followed by ample time for students to experiment with the materials and techniques on their own. Create your own masterpiece without the restrictions of "copying" the teacher.
  • 12/14 ~ Watercolor Card Creation ~ Students will learn basic watercolor techniques and then complete a series of watercolor paintings!  Techniques such a dry brush and wet into wet will be demonstrated by our teacher, followed by ample time for students to experiment with the materials and techniques on their own. Create your own masterpiece without the restrictions of "copying" the teacher. We’ll work towards creating a small series of painted cards.  Additional painting surfaces can be brought to class.

  • 1/18 ~ DIY Stamp Creation ~ Students in this class will learn basic relief printing techniques, creating their own linoleum block stamp from design to carving to printing.  Everyone will go home with their own unique stamp, an edition of prints and info on how to continue the printing at home!
  • 1/25 ~ Block Printing Tote Bags ~ Students in this class will learn basic relief printing techniques, creating their own linoleum block stamp from design to carving to printing.  Stamps will then be used to decorate a canvas tote bag, which each student leaving class with a finished tote, reusable stamp and info on how to keep printing at home! Additional printing surfaces can be brought to class.

  • 2/8 ~ Watercolor Exploration with Floral Inspiration ~ Students will learn basic watercolor techniques and then complete a series of watercolor paintings!  Techniques such a dry brush and wet into wet will be demonstrated by our teacher, primarily focused on depicting flowers, followed by ample time for students to experiment with the materials and techniques on their own. Create your own masterpiece without the restrictions of "copying" the teacher. Floral arrangements will be on hand for inspiration!

  • 3/1 ~ Intermediate Watercolor Exploration ~ Students will explore watercolor techniques beyond the basics in this intermediate workshop.  Perfect as a refresher for those who haven’t painted in a while or something looking to push themselves a bit in their work.

  • 1/27 ~ Acrylic on Canvas ~ Students will learn basic acrylic painting techniques, which will be applied to their own finished paintings.  No need to “copy” the teacher in this workshop - we’ll give you the skills to create the painting of your choosing! One 8x10 canvas and canvas paper will be provided, along with all painting materials. Any additional surfaces can also be brought to class. $65/student

DIY Stamp Creation Demo

Private Picassos will demonstrate basic relief printing techniques, including designing and carving your own linoleum stamp, as well as printing on a variety of surfaces including paper, cards and fabric tote bags.  Get info about our Art Workshops around NYC and at our Park Slope Art Studio.
